After more than twelve months of planning, collaborating, writing, editing and production, our newest course is finally complete. WorkSmart: Safe Patient Handling I is now live on our web site and ready for use.  Ana Kay Steadman, MA, OTR, CHSP, our collaborating author, brought her many years of experience to the table to help create an outstanding course that addresses the significant need for a consistent educational tool to protect front line care-givers from the high risk manual handling tasks seen in healthcare today.

The IMPACC WorkSmart: Safe Patient Handling I program is a unique, web based training tool that builds knowledge and understanding and motivates front line health care givers to become part of the solution in implementing Safe Patient Handling protocols and procedures. Based on the latest research, the course examines the issues and technology that confront todays health care givers. Free demos are available in the demo area of our web site.

We have recently added several new features to our courses in response to customer requests. We think they make great sense. The WorkSmart: Safe Patient Handling I course now has closed captions for the hearing impaired and for noisy environments. Also, we have incorporated video clips into the SPH course to supplement the Technology Section.

For all our courses, employees will now be unable to fast forward through the pages. Credit for a page completion will be given only after the page has finished rather than when it started. In additon, we have implemented a 70% passing score level. Employees must now answer 70% of the final exam questions correctly to pass. Otherwise, they will have to take the course or exam again.

We are proud to announce that have signed a Partneship Agreement with HealthStream®, the largest provider of on-line training content to hospitals in the United States and Canada with over 2 million subscribers. We are the first Maine company to become a HealthStream Partner. Under this agreement, HealthStream® will be providing two of our courses to their clients. The WorkSmart: Safe Patient Handling I and WorkSmart Office Ergonomics courses are now live on HealthStream® and are available to HealthStream eLearning clients. 

For non-HealthStream® hospitals and health care facilities, we will continue to provide training and World Class Customer Service to them.
